Special Education

Special Education is the primary role I have at my placement, my entire day is spent meeting the needs of my students on our caseload. Their needs are laid out in their IEP’s and our schedule is built upon what services they need. My day is spent between pulling out students for individualized instruction and pushing in for inclusion services. Communication is imperative for the success of our students, communication from our department and the parents as well as ESS and the general education teachers. Conversations with the classroom teachers is something that happens at least daily if not more, it is very imperative that both myself and the teacher are on the same page when it comes to students in Special Education. Our conversations range from their progress, to updates in schedules, to giving a heads up if it’s a rough day. Fortunately, all of the students are in the general education setting majority of their day, our program is built on the belief of inclusion-based practice rat
